(Tuscarawas County) – Empower Tusc is proud to announce that Jodi Salvo, the Coordinator of the Empower Tusc Coalition, has been recognized as the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America (CADCA) Legislative Advocate of the Year.
Salvo was recognized at CADCA’s 34th Annual National Leadership Forum in National Harbor, Maryland where more than 4,300 individuals representing 50 states and over 30 countries were in attendance. This recognition further highlighted Salvo’s unwavering dedication and impactful work in substance use prevention and youth advocacy.
Jodi Salvo has continued to lead initiatives that significantly contribute to the health and well-being of young people across Tuscarawas County. Her efforts in guiding Empower Tusc towards innovative and effective outreach strategies have continued to foster a stronger, more resilient community.
The CADCA Legislative Advocate of the Year award was presented to Salvo during the conference by CADCA President and CEO, General Barrye L. Price. The award is presented to a standout individual who has demonstrated exceptional leadership in the field of substance use prevention. Recipients of this award are recognized for their tireless advocacy, innovative approaches, and commitment to creating safe, healthy, and drug-free communities.

Salvo’s approach combines evidence-based strategies with a deep understanding of community needs and a priority in community relationships, making her a respected and influential figure in the field of substance use prevention across not only Ohio but Nationally. Salvo was also a conference speaker at the CADCA Forum. In addition, herself and members of the Empower Tusc Coalition spent time on Capitol Hill meeting with Senator Brown and Congressman Balderson offices to advocate for support with substance use prevention, treatment and recovery support.
