(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The stakes couldn’t be higher as Big Tobacco launches a new public relations campaign claiming that they are the good guys!

Empower Tusc is encouraging Tuscarawas County to join advocates across the country on March 31st as we stand up and speak out against the tobacco industry. Big Tobacco has issued new outreach efforts claiming they have reformed, that they’re “beyond smoking,” and that they want a “smoke-free” world. So much evidence tells us this simply is not the case.

Big Tobacco continues to aggressively market deadly cigarettes and vape devices while raking in billions of dollars in profits. They fight policies that would reduce tobacco use. And, they constantly develop new products to hook kids.

“We are encouraging our youth across Tuscarawas County to find their voice and stand proud in their decisions to stay tobacco free,” added Empower Tusc Coalition Coordinator Jodi Salvo. “But, we also hope to see our parents, coaches, teachers, caregivers, and mentors alike join this effort as well. Together we can continue pushing toward a healthier, more equitable future.”
