(New Philadelphia, OH) — Flourish, the new innovative childcare solution that opened inside New Towne Mall in May 2024, is excited to announce major enhancements to better meet the needs of the families in Tuscarawas County.

The organization continues to evolve to meet the needs of the community. And, with that, Flourish is proud to announce that in accordance with guidelines and requirements through the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, the program will remove the daily four-hour limit previously in place. The childcare center will now allow families to schedule care for their children 18 months and older for any length of time during the center’s operational hours. This flexibility ensures that whether parents need an hour to shop or a full day for work, their needs can be met.

Beginning August 12th, Flourish’s childcare program will be open 8:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, and 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Additionally, Flourish continues to offer its unique hourly rate structure. By allowing families to only pay for the care they need, childcare becomes more accessible. Families can unlock the ability to pursue school, part-time or full-time work, self-care, and so much more. The program will continue to offer drop-in, flexible, and extended care options in addition to customized care programs for families who need more traditional, full-time care.

“These changes are about more than just extending hours; they’re about growing with our community and fulfilling a commitment to make childcare more accessible,” Owner, Michaela Thomas explained. “We’ve listened to the needs of our families and are thrilled to offer more adaptable solutions that support parents and caregivers while ensuring their children thrive in a safe, nurturing environment.”

Flourish will also continue to offer the Community Care program, which provides sponsored care hours that can be distributed to families every Monday and Tuesday courtesy of Freeport Press and your local Wendy’s. Other local business and community members are always welcome to participate in this initiative as we strive to embody the belief that it truly takes a village.

“Our mission at Flourish is to embody the age-old wisdom that ‘it takes a village’ to raise a child. Every day, we strive to create a community that not only cares for, but actively enriches the lives of every family that walks through our doors,” added Flourish General Manager Tiffany Stutts. “By supporting each other we can ensure that both children and their parents have the resources they need to grow and thrive.

Activities and learning programs at Flourish also continue to be developed by accredited education professionals with early childhood and educational disciplines, ensuring that children engage in play that is not only fun but enriching and educational.

Families can continue bringing their kiddos for up to four hours Monday – Saturday 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. 6:00 p.m. now until August 12th when the new, extended services begin. Families interested in taking advantage of the new extended hours beginning August 12th can also start booking those spots today by calling or texting 330-416-7170 or sending an email to

Flourish remains committed to providing top-notch care that meets state licensing standards, with a staff that’s CPR and first aid certified, has undergone extensive background checks, and has completed hours of state-required training all to ensure a safe and enriching environment for children and their families.

We are proud to continue to work with the community and partners dedicated to investing in families such as Freeport Press, your local Wendy’s, Empower Tusc, Kent State University at Tuscarawas, WSO, TuscBDD, and others.
