(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – The local organizations, Newsymom LLC, New Towne Mall and MK Events are teaming up to bring the Zoo to Tuscarawas County!

The organizations, with a shared dedication to creating a supportive network for local families, are excited to announce the first NewsyTowne Zoo event on June 17, 2023. The event will be held at New Towne Mall, 400 Mill Avenue SE, New Philadelphia, Ohio 44663 from 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. with a sensory friendly hour from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. This immersive event is designed to strengthen our community through a full day of entertainment, laughter, and fun for local families.

“We are so excited to bring this free event to Tuscarawas County families,” explained Michaela Thomas, Newsymom Executive Director. “We hope this will become an annual tradition for area families for years to come!”

The event is completely free to the community to avoid cost from becoming a barrier preventing local families from enjoying this exciting opportunity. Thank you to main event sponsors including COAD 4 Kids – New Philadelphia, Trinity Hospital Twin City, Authentic Church, and CareSource!

“This free event provides our families in the community to make memories here at New Towne Mall,” says Tori Noah, General Manager of New Towne Mall. “We are excited to host this event and partner with Newsysmom and MK Events. With the participating sponsors we have made this event one that the community will not forget!”

The event will include an exotic petting zoo, magic shows, vendors, pictures with baby kangaroos, games, stilt walkers, face painting, and so much more! Additionally, goodie bags will also be available on a first come-first-serve basis. Bags will be stuffed with a variety of activities, coupons, information, and more in addition to other special surprises randomly placed in bags.
