(New Philadelphia, Ohio) – Empower Tusc is sending an important reminder to holiday travelers, be smart and don’t drink and drive.

As the holiday season continues, celebrations and travel will continue to ramp up. Often, celebrations may include alcoholic drinks. However, it is important to remember that your family and friends are expecting you.

“Please be smart when celebrating this holiday season and plan ahead,” explained Jodi Salvo, Empower Tusc Coalition Coordinator. “Drunk driving related crashes are preventable tragedies.”

Always remember to plan ahead if you will be celebrating. If you plan to drink, ensure you have a sober driver to take you home. If it’s your turn to be the designated driver, take that role seriously and do not consume alcohol, not even one drink.

Additionally, if you see a drunk driver on the road, contact local law enforcement and never be afraid to intervene if you have a friend that is about to drink and drive.
